I’ve come back to Scotland to where I lived as a child. And I’ve wandered around the central shopping streets and down to the castle and harbour. It does give me a sense of calm to be able to spend time here.
The house is on a quiet street and although you get lots of cars using the street and children walking up and down between the school behind the house and the one at the bottom of the hill, there is very little regular noise. Cars are predominantly purring, suggesting that there are a lot of electric cars now.
The hill I mentioned is the fairly steep brae between our house and the main shopping streets before you reach the harbour and beach. I am proud that several days this week I have made a trip down the hill and back twice in one day. I’m getting my steps in!
Maybe tomorrow I’ll try and do a walk along the sandy beach…

I’ve also filled up dad’s bird feeders and we’re hoping that we won’t just be feeding the grey squirrels…
