One of my all time favourites which was immortalised by Charles Rennie Macintosh in many of his graphics and illustrations.

I have planted a lot of them and they are starting to blossom in many of my new beds. It’s nice to see they haven’t been unsuccessful (like my chocolate cosmos) but I am hopeful that I can plant the ones that arrived today into the bit where the tarpaulin has been.

I have also seen my first lily beetles and didn’t eradicate them – I took pictures instead. They clash with the fritillary I think but gardens need contrast.
