Early morning trip to the doctors to get my second jab of Shingrilix, or shingles vaccine. Not ideal timing but it was my appointment time I was given.

I’ve had a response to my Friday email to my MS team. Her response ‘not ideal’ but it’s not a ‘live vaccine’. The wonders of medicine in 2026: emails can be seen and answered same day.

I’ve had five-day course of my latest DMD you see. Finished on Friday. Second course will be delivered end of the month. And then I get six months off.

I’ve lived with morning/night tablets for four or so years. And although my newest medication is a repurposed version of a cancer drug, Tecfidera (the previous tablets) also have liver risks and had been hovering above the risky levels by the smallest increments shown on my regular blood tests.

I’ve had a ‘washout’ before starting Mavenclad a DMD that’s only recently become available. And one that reduces my requirement to remember twice daily tablets (text notifications are great but not infallible if life takes you away from the box…). A large sized box delivered two tiny boxes of the tablets and those proved ‘Me proof’ to open initially.
