If you go back far enough on my blog you’ll find posts showing things I’ve bought and dreamed of adding to the colour palette in my garden. I bought quite a few irises that were deep black (purplish) and this summer I have rather a lot of those!

I didn’t want pink to be honest and there are a few stragglers from a previous owner. But that’ll be because they have deep roots and also because I bought some not realising they were part of a mixed box.

The garden is a bit wild and I love sitting amongst the wildness watching bees and bugs all over. I might reject minimalism for abundance.
I quite like seeing the multiple buds popping up too. Alliums with multiple flowers of shimmering purple. Those Christophii were worth the extra spends…

Aquilegia of deepest purple are also very fond of growing through the gravel. We now have pink and blue aquilegia too. My colour palette is less fussy than I’d previously imagined but it’s not too bad that it offends me. I just need to cull the sticky willow…
