We did a 100-mile+ round trip to Aberdeenshire – not Aberdeen itself – but to a National Trust garden called Pittmedden.

It was a gorgeous day after rainfall early on. we arrived to sunshine and masses of butterflies and bees making a glorious sight on the perennial beds which we were told with great excitement about when we arrived. The esteemed garden designer Chris Beardshaw has been helping to reestablish two major areas of the garden and it certainly seemed to be working if the plan was to try and increase the pollinators attracted to the garden. Certainly had a buzz about them!

We had a very enjoyable couple of hours here and were able to enjoy the tranquillity of the site and it’s features.
