Today we visited relatives, so I didn’t do the obligatory digging I have signed up to finish…

I have a lot of digging over the area where a new shed is going to go. I didn’t realise it had just been turned over, so I have a load of roots and weeds to pull out. Not what I was expecting, and having had several battles with bindweed already this year, I didn’t anticipate using soil like that in the new bed. That seriously sounds like a BAD plan! So I’ve pulled out lots of weeds and roots using my garden sieve, before mixing in the remaining gravel, some manure, sand and compost. I’ve also planted some of my bulbs as I’ve found them but I’m not transferring too much miscellaneous clumps. I’ve also pulled out a few too many bits of glass…

I’ll let you see some work in progress. I am happy with the structure of this bed. I will definitely do another somewhere in the garden!
