It was pretty wet when we got up so we took an easier start so didn’t set off till after 11 to get to Scarborough for about 1230. Again we thought it’d be terribly touristy but lots of Scarborough was very gentile.

It’s a Victorian Spa Town with lots of striking buildings and lots of beachside entertainment featuring lots of fish and lobsters and chips and ice creams all claiming to be award winning and essential.

It has a pretty good high street too. Plenty of national favourites and lots of good recognisable places to shop. It wasn’t the Scarborough Fair but it was very busy. We certainly have some serious step counts this week. We did get rained on but not soaked.

Lots of this holiday involves eating cakes or scones. I am hoping the walking is working it off… we also went into this coffee shop and had a delicious lunch.
