Half Term usually sees a lot of things happening in the garden and this week doesn’t disappoint. Over the last few years I planted lots and the garden, while a little wild looking, has looked after some of those things.

I miss my Woolworths replacement store in Letchworth (though it’s been replaced by an amazing exotic food supermarket!) as I have seriously planted lots of perennials in my garden over the last five years.
This week there are four or five colours of iris and they have such lovely velvety blooms. I got some tubers from the gardening company I briefly worked for and while they aren’t quite my favourite colours (blue/yellow) I can post their picture in solidarity for Ukraine.

There was a food festival this weekend and we have enjoyed the flavours and foods they have brought to us. Some to promote local businesses I am happy to support. We had all sorts of things from hibiscus syrup cordials to halloumi strips with salsa and coriander. And don’t forget the churros! Yum!
