I’ve thought about this but I’m not entirely sure…

What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.

How personal are you allowed to be in 2025? Can you really just ask a person whether they are vaccinated or trans or prefer to be referred to by ‘they’? There are all sorts of things people express nowadays that we never had to ‘worry’ about or even differentiate between at the start of the century.

It’s like the term ‘woke’. In some places that’s a great thing to be and then there are some people who are extraordinarily afraid of being called this, or some people who fling it out as the biggest outrage or cruellest insult. So forgive me. For not really knowing or wanting to be woke!?!

I’m fond of language and the many ways we can transport ourselves into imaginary worlds or even versions of the world we currently inhabit but I admit to also being scared of the people who threaten the world order in ways that’s not anything I personally can change. I can promise never to buy a Swasticar and promote my support for a country under siege from Putin, but I can’t stop an orange tangerine from telling us that Ukraine started the war.

I’m not writing a novel yet but the things currently happen in 2025 are so unbelievable that it’s like we are living in the wildest work of fiction ever written let alone imagined.

Is my pot of gold in that puddle?
