I did get to hurkle-durkle yesterday, as I remained in bed till 10 am. But I got up for waffles served with blueberries and raspberries, and was given a new clematis and more!

Mother’s Day was cold however and heading outside today I am still reluctant to spend much time outside. Some plants ordered at Christmas arrived today and I am building a collection of plants to find homes for! The potting shed has some great plants (well rhizomes and things that go underground) awaiting my ‘getting mucky’ desires which have to overcome the ‘no desire to freeze’ notion.

I have some hostas and penstemon and grasses to plant. As well as some spider lilies! And the new arrivals have some great cultivars which I’ll try and relay after I’ve done some weeding and planting. The Veg beds are in need of some weeding, front and back, to enable the onions, celery and garlic to be planted.

But the dog has made it treacherous all over the garden… I’ve already had mess all over my gardening boots! Not a pleasant task for my morning… And I have to tackle lots of plant invaders too: ivy up the fence post, brambles through the tulips, and ‘Wet the bed’ our biggest intruder, and immortalised on a Pottery Throwdown toilet last night. (But did it make Keith cry?)
Lots of overflowing receptacles after the wettest February on record… I must get another water butte…
