My world is kind of narrow and Covid closed it in even more. I want to do things before a certain time before I am considered ‘too old’ and ‘untrainable’ but then I talk to mum and realise age has lost its meaning for her and life is for grabbing with both hands!

Ideas and concepts do swirl around in my head but it’s a funny old time to try and come up with a plan. Perhaps plans just need to be fluid?

I’m not good with monotony and things being determined by time and place, or other things I have no control of.

I also find it difficult to prioritise gardening jobs! Last year fundraising for the Korean Jamboree meant my weekends were either spent going all over Hertfordshire to Scout locations or glued to the news understanding the chaos in Korea, or fundraising! None of which helped me to make the garden better!

Now the New Year finds me still jobless after applying for lots of things, but my MS is not helping with interviews! Many of those are involving a grilling for up to 50 minutes, in person or by zoom, and it doesn’t really allow me to show my employability to its best. So I might need to rethink. My iPad has been upgraded and I now need to learn how to make my iPen look like a charcoal stick on a screen… or waggle it about like a watercolour brush. How to echo an oil pastel? Or Oil paints? Actually my youngest has been creating quite masterful paintings without any training so I am inspired!

Watch this space?

The potting shed is in place and the greenhouse moved. There is lots I have to do to finish these current projects and I am still hoping to have a great space for summer 2024! If I got some work or win the lottery, I’ll still spend it on the garden!
