Most of today was tidying !

I’m not going to lie, I was going to go to yoga this morning until my yogi cancelled… so I put myself into the jobs we didn’t finish over the weekend. I’m not the best ‘housewife’ but I’m aware that some things don’t get done if I don’t attempt them and what I am aware of is getting the worst bits done is more likely to be followed by a general tidy by child who can get pocket money for redoing the work I’ve started. All of it needs doing weekly so maybe if this continues we will have the cleanest house in years! And don’t get me wrong, youngest is an amazing cook and artist to boot! She makes me so proud. 😊

The garden is damp but messy. We do need to tidy that but with random cold snaps, I am not brave enough to schedule the jobs I’ve been putting off since October. And I know we are lucky not to have a foot of snow or more. The benefits of being an hour or more from the sea are also my biggest regret about living inland.

I think coastal living is better for me but until youngest sits her Alevels (2 years) we won’t be selling up our bungalow. In fact my husband seemed to indicate to me that he is not interested in going/moving anywhere else ever when we had a cosy night out at the weekend. So I better get busy doing some of the jobs I’ve talked about to make our little house an idyllic spot I never want to leave… oh new years resolution number 1: be grateful 🙏🏻

Telly programme explaining making a terrarium. Maybe this is the answer for houseplants that fail to thrive. I have a big fish tank!
