September jobs…

Yesterday was warm… but I am not sure that it will continue? Rain has been a sudden visitor over the last couple of days. And we are working hard on the garden-keeping jobs – quite a sweat worked up! – and it’s clear the rescue dog is contributing to the mess.

Lots of need for my new suede thornproof gloves for sure. Brambles are amok! Which go straight in the brown bin. I’ve lost some secateurs in the last few weeks and will definitely be using my work free time to go through the piles building up inside the house. And that is after the university piles disappear! We had to move the university piles after the dog relieved himself twice (in the house) on the bags oldest had been filling for her freshers week.

But brambles have to be eliminated before we have a thorny impassable garden. And more dog mess gets hidden…

We have lots of brambles!

A neighbour I don’t know came to the door offering to trim our hedge! Unexpected! I don’t know when but she was offering to do it before the weather turns…

Skip run today with the hedge trimmings. And we identified a sloe bush for sure. I thought it was… now to make Sloe gin?!?

I have filled some trugs today and I feel wiped out. My husband has cemented some bricks I wasn’t expecting and he has been poring over a book about building a shed so I assume he is doing this because he’s going ahead with his plan.

Skip trip completed by 1030 am…
