What do you think gets better with age?
I am meant to be of an age that gives me experience in spades but it doesn’t equate to work experience and being considered the ultimate candidate for the job roles that are appearing these days.
No matter my ambition and K-pop-enjoying, plant buying and angry acknowledgment of the world’s unfair current affairs, I can only apply my attention to detail to my previous career before children. It’s the BC which also gets me disregarded as not being better with age, although both offspring are old enough to get/walk home alone.
So my question in return, how do you judge improvement? Less perturbed by your surroundings regardless of how dark and shady a street might seem? How loud and raucous the nearby groups might be? Or are you staying out of those areas largely because nowhere seems safe? Even groups online can suddenly become passive-aggressive in mere minutes, threatening your peace of mind.
Today’s society is undoubtedly angry. Angrier than it ever was before. So that’s no improvement for sure. But even peaceful protest is met with possible imprisonment – how is that improvement? Nope I’m sorry the world isn’t improving with age…

This really resonated with me. It’s strange how age and experience don’t always translate into opportunity anymore.

I think improvement now is more about protecting our peace than progressing by society’s standards.
