I’ve found the rising temperature rather unpleasant. But that’s not all that is getting in my way. The dog has been getting swimming lessons! I hated going to swimming lessons with my kids; why am I taking the dog?

We like visiting beaches when we go back to Scotland. Every year a handful of the beaches we regularly visit get mentioned in the holiday guides but this year it featured some of the ones I have featured on my blog! I saw comments on the article requesting a cloak of invisibility to be thrown over those beaches but they are quite distant to big cities so hopefully it will not encourage hordes of people to visit at the same time as we visit them.

And hopefully our super-friendly rescue will not run away from the sea if we keep up the swimming lessons which are, if slowly, meant to encourage the ‘sight hound’ to ignore the dogs playing around him and join us splashing around in the waves. That’s the theory anyway…
But he’s not all that keen on the sensation of the ground underneath him becoming water! A doggie life belt is strapped on him and the promise of a squeaky toy is floating ever further away but he’s not that stupid: he knows that he has to get wet to get the squeaks he so enjoys!
It’s early days but this could be an expensive course: more than driving lessons? (Luckily that doesn’t seem to be another expense we need to cover, yet!) But after the last two dogs, we are hoping to instil some sort of water enjoyment for T. But he hasn’t got a lot of water dog in his DNA?
