I’m not working now and today felt like the family just did a spur of the moment day out! My mother is visiting from Spain for the first time in ages and we took her to Cambridge on a day that coincided with university graduation ceremonies and the city was super busy with people in fancy frocks and that was just the graduates!

We visited the botanical gardens and like many of my garden blogs this year it is a garden I’ve visited before. Many gardens though are worth visiting over and over to get ideas for your own gardens and purchase plants which grow well locally…

Saying that the collection in the Botanics is special. Lots of plants that have years of growth and care from a team of specialists and volunteers.

Special nooks and vistas all round the site. If you haven’t been, do make it a day trip as it is an astonishing collection. We wandered through the glasshouses and were surrounded by young and old visitors who were all exploring this special site.
