Describe one of your favorite moments.
Today started with dog training! But lunch involved a revisit to Gotha Garden. This is a hidden gem just off the A505 between Letchworth and Ashwell. It is a garden that changes every time we visit and today saw some very new changes.

New seating has been added to one of the gardens as well as a drink stop to take advantage of the lovely day and views. We noticed on another bench a plaque saying how the previous owner loved the view back through the gardens from that point. And it’s understandable.
We had lunch before our garden wander and it was delicious. Amazing carrot soup was my choice and it was sublime. Our decision to walk round the garden and reward ourselves with cake after was also an inspired choice.

(Rhubarb cake and rhubarb cordial was divine. The cream accompaniment to my cake was delicious. )
The garden was in a delightful stage with the last of the irises, lots of roses and baubles of alliums dotted around. Bees were swarming around and I could imagine the honey collected nearby would be delicious.

I spotted a rose I must look out for: a delightful peach colour with a delicate scent. I will be visiting Gotha again to see if they sell on some of these plants.
Visiting a garden on my birthday? It doesn’t get much better.
