Wordsworth missed a trick! Daffodils don’t have the multitude of colours the tulips have. Wandering round the Walled Garden at Wimpole at Easter is one of the best times to really savour the tulips! All sorts and colours!

It’s a beautiful sunny day and the other 3 have taken our dog for a four-mile hike round the grounds. I’m sitting in a NT deckchair in a really hot sunbeam.
It’s truly glorious and I don’t mind being left among the blossoms to enjoy the sun warming my bones. It’s not peaceful, however, because grandparents and mums have decided the Easter trail is a good distraction for the children. Bunny ears and chocolate-smeared faces are easy notifiers of the factors involved in choosing Wimpole today.
I probably should have brought sun cream and my dark denim trousers are starting to burn against my legs. I usually avoid denim for exactly this reason. Leggings rarely heat up in the sun.-
