Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.

I am talking a few years back but my pond in our garden in St Albans was DEEP! My dad helped make it just that bit too deep as I subsequently got pregnant and questioned the idea of a seriously deep water feature with a small child.

We enjoyed making it but my enforced maternity leave due to the start of MS symptoms (I was diagnosed when she was 3 months) saw me start to rethink my garden for sure!

We have since moved and my garden lacks a water feature but my strength eighteen years since my daughter was born is depleted. We have a larger garden but the funding for a garden makeover has always been limited by our relative health issues.

A garden pond is still on my wishlist but maybe nowadays it won’t be a case of digging one but looking at the natural development of one in the soggiest part of the back garden.
