It’s bright and sunny today! I am sitting on the couch a bit more than usual and I’m hoping it won’t be a sign of things to come. I’ve been trying to work out what I can do about the increasing mess and destruction following our rescue T around in his wake. He has destroyed lots of things unfortunately and he is more powerful when out walking than I’d like. A Halti muzzle does help but he hates it, as it restricts his head movement.

I’m not sure what gardening I will manage this year. There is already lots of tidying needing tackled. An entire library of books has been lost to the rats and with pages stuck together it is clear that rat pee has been transmitted through the books. I am hugely saddened that we assumed the shed was going to be a safe place for our collection but it will need a skip to take them away. I’m pretty sure there will be some unscathed but the majority are damaged.
We gave up so much wall space in our last house and this house still needs decorating. Lots of jobs half finished…
The garden still needs attention. I will look at a new layout as trees need removing and paths need replanning. Currently we haven’t seen much of the rats but I think they are still there and rat pathways need eradicating. I hope T’s presence is deterring them. Last year we lost lots of apples and veg to the blighters so it wasn’t our fault if we didn’t eat as much from the garden as we could have.
There is lots of timber needing chopped up for the woodburner. It’s been halted by the heart surgery of my husband. He will not be swinging an axe this year, so I have been wondering whether it’s worth approaching a tree company
