Ace loved our garden and found lots of rat evidence we had no idea about! I never knew that dashunds were ratters but this wee chap was on a mission to eradicate the GWL headquarters of any and all the ratus 🐀 he could find. He chased them over the fence and into next doors’ garden… they sat up the apple tree and taunted him … and if he could have climbed he would! As evidenced by the lengths he went to climb up and over the shelves and rubbish we keep in the little shed. Earlier this morning we had explored the book shed which is a horrible waste of years of book collections. A lot of books only fit for the dump 😳😭

A lot of things that are not junk but now probably covered by rat pee and fit for a skip and not much else.

But we now know where to put down some traps… two nests were pointed out to us, which we had no idea about and we can now target. Rats are finding our apple tree a good place to hide and generally laugh at the small dog. But he was the most fearless little dog, attempting to jump onto the highest shelf of the shed!

Lots of shredded buddleia has filled the green bin but think we’ll be doing some tip runs in the coming weeks. As well as looking for a terrier to take over from where our dear departed doodle left off…
