This year has been disastrous for our garden: it’s going to take a lot of energy to get it under control because … the RATS are back! The grass is taking over again and I am just back from Spain recoupping after our annus horriblus. If anybody needs a recap, my husband had emergency cardiac surgery, the dog had cancer and was put to sleep and the funeral of my MIL took place as the schools returned… it’s not easy to assume it’s gonna improve but I’m a glass half full usually.
The garden, both front and back, needs so much doing and to scare rodents away by tapping on the door does not make me feel the rats are scared of us or anything of the sort. I’ll need to clean everything! Rats pee as they go… this is my big nightmare and we may need to call in the professionals. Again.

So sorry to hear that. A year like that must make you feel so despairing. But things get better, and the garden and the rats can be sorted and you will, I hope, start to have better days. The sun always comes back eventually. ❤️

Thanks it has been a hard year so I’m not full of hope. I was outside trying to rehang a washing line and I saw possibly three rats run through the apple tree. A lady is bringing her terrier round to see if we can scare them away… but I’m not sure it can climb trees or fences… 🫣
