Sculpture Park musings…

We’ve talked about visiting the Yorkshire Sculpture Park for many years, in fact maybe 20 years…

Today’s visit was hot and bright and we spent three hours or so en route to home. There were good bits and not so good bits and there were internal galleries as well as sweeping hillsides.

The cafe we had lunch was sadly internally based within hedges stopping the sweeping views of the park and sadly didn’t feature any sculptures to look at. Odd when the spaces were mainly grass and hedge and in most great gardens of history would feature sculpture of all types yet at the SP there were none…

We wandered round sheep and lake and didn’t touch the enormous granite Henry Moore in case we somehow changed the granite for posterity.

Despite my complaint BTS the park was hugely busy on the last weekend of the English School holidays.

Some pictures will be well known already as we’ve taken a long time to visit: well worth a stop!
