Not what I thought the holiday would be…

We have spent two days trying to clear up lots and washing loads of clothes. Hanging washing up and tidying corners that were just building up dust and detritus. Some would call it spring cleaning but it was more than that.

Difficult to get a close up of this lady bird.

One of us is poorlier than I had anticipated and is preparing for a surgical procedure at a London hospital. As it’s not me I won’t disclose the situation but will say that our house is unexpectedly not in a good place for the mid Easter holiday but with my usual optimism I am hoping that it’s only a temporary setback.

I’ve only managed dandelion extermination and deadheading daffodils. I’ve seen lots in bloom today that make me feel quite positive that I’m doing enough to keep the garden flowering.

There are lots of tulips blossoming!

I might end up weeding grasses for the rest of the summer…

  1. I didn’t know about deadheading daffodils! Will they bloom again, same season? I know it about lots of other flowers but weirdly didn’t try it yet with daffies. Ours are just starting to bloom here, mind you… (lots of shade here not much sun in our yard). Anyway, lovely blog and images, thanks for sharing! <33
