Now I can herald the start of the tulips! We have several popping out now and I can’t wait to see how many have avoided being chewed by our lovely local squirrels. I haven’t spotted many blacks in our garden and we have a loud shouty poodle to chase them away!

We were woken up at 1 am the other night… not by a squirrel but the fox who taunted the dog from the back fence, who sparked a flurry of barks and desperate scrabbling to head into the garden! Mr Fox will have to be less obvious in future… I think foxes are quite common in Letchworth as people regularly post pictures. My camera equipment and patience probably mean you won’t get a picture from me!

I am pleased to see lots of snakes head fritillaries in bloom as well as anenomes and the whiter daffodils I am more interested in.
I should head out to the front garden and plant some veggies (after a good weed) or I might be too late! I don’t believe I am too late but there are regular comments on FB groups to imply I am… too much media in my life?

NB according to the BBC 31/3/2024 snakes head fritillaries are very rare. I have been planting them all over my garden for the last few years…
