March Meanderings!

Later I will head to the garden shop and pick up some supplies…

But I wandered round our front and back gardens and surveyed the work needing done and there is plenty! It’s Spring now so lots of new growth and buds are all over but my oh my, the weeds are phenomenal! Blossoming trees, laurel that came back, and blackthorn which just grows ferociously well.

Still have things to plant and to weed for this is gonna involve me kneeling in the wet patches. Such a lot of natures wonder out there as bees seem stuck inside crocus – maybe they gorged on too much pollen! Grasses are possibly not the thing to plant as we have enough wild grass for sure. Still planning to deglaze the greenhouse but it sits askew on its new home slightly sad with its missing structures.

First jobs today:

1 The garden shop to join and get some compost, manure and bits and pieces… open for 2 sessions per week and I usually get the time muddled.

2 Eliminate dandelions! plenty of those next to the house on the strip of ground maintained by someone else.

3 Cull some more of Spiky in the front! I am thinking it might also be white thorn/blackthorn like the trees in the back. Pretty blossom!

4 Use some strong weed killer on some of my edge growing weeds and try to target areas where mares tail flourishes. Apparently it doesn’t like fertile soil, hence my mission to add manure and mulch out front.

5 Work out why nemesis plants grow alternately in the front and back. Holly. Roses. Mosses.

6 Tidy up some more!

7 Enjoy the flowers!

8 Avoid trailing mess of any kind into the house.

Lots to do!
