Spiky has filled my green bin! I should in fairness have taken Spiky through the shredder but it was late in the afternoon and I snipped every bit in half to try and crush it down. Bits of Spiky was blossoming and having a Disney towering hedge of thorns is not in my plan for the front garden…

Spiky mainly grows over the area I introduced a path to, so as I want to stay on good terms with my postman and Amazon delivery guys, I think eradication of Spiky, aka blackthorn or white thorn bush I really don’t want growing there, is of the imperative urgency. It’s growing up through my Veg Up Front beds too which I intend to weed this week.

Having pledged to go try a supermarket for some plant purchases, I did make some purchases of both Veg and flowering bulbs, corms and small bushes… so a trip to extend my gardening club membership and purchase some more compost, manure and bits from the Wednesday session might need to happen. I might need to check for the opening or reopening times…
