It’s been a while, ten years or more, since I’ve visited Bennington Lordship to see the snowdrops as part of the National Gardens Scheme. It’s a lovely place off the beaten track, and through a lot of flooded roads, but this was definitely the last of the snowdrops for this year.

It was a long drive listening to tributes of the dearly departed Steve Wright on the way there and other musical treats on the way back. I wished for company but a poorly husband and kid on sleepover, meant I had to do it solo. There were a few hardy souls dressed for the mud but I had forgotten my poles so I slipped around the safest routes.

Definitely worth a visit but note to self to wear walking boots next time and take the poles from behind the front door. Enjoy my snowdrops, hellebores, iris and crocuses!
