Can Woolworths make a comeback? If Wilkos has gone from much of the UK the German based revival heralded by shops all over Austria, Poland and Germany would be a pleasant change. And I do miss walking into town and picking up Wilko garden supplies. We snipped and ‘refused’ a load of ivy and privet creeping around the apple tree today.

We slid a couple of the new fence panels into place and if I make it sound easy it most definitely wasn’t. There were a few hairy moments when I thought the neighbour’s greenhouse was a goner and R had a few minutes wandering round a new garden. Another panel needs ordered but it is not high on the priority list.

A few bags could be taken to the skip during the week but it’s brown bin collection week so perhaps the green stuff can get stuffed into the empty bin on Friday.

This is a pleasant weather start to January and I’ve done more than I anticipated. Whoever thinks there isn’t global differences can’t be noticing the lack of ice and snow in Hertfordshire this year…
