After an extravagant and stupendous Cirque de Soleil performance at the Royal Albert Hall, this afternoon was back to garden reality. We tried to find some fine wire to put the compost bin on to stop the rodents from burrowing into it. An online purchase is needed… two garden centres were visited looking for fine mesh! We whipped through both too fast to enjoy the places I would normally loiter.

Hubby took out a load of the bush next to the shed slab and shoved it through the shredder. We trampled over that new bed I had spent so much time on last year… but it is going to get some new plants… but it threatens to be v cold tomorrow. But things have been put on trays in the greenhouse frame. One day the glass might go back in the frame.

There was lots of brambles shredded and despite thinking some of the shredding could go in the compost we decided to use the empty garden bin. I shall use it on spiky white or black thorn bushes next time I get the chance…
