January Jobs!

It’s so WET! I was hoping for fluffy snow but I’m not a fan of sludge and ice… but I’ve ordered some plants on sale! So depending on how quickly they arrive will influence how long it will take me to get them planted. I’m still getting my head round what is perennial and what needs to be replanted. Tulips don’t automatically regrow but as my favourite spring bloom I’d quite like them to regrow. Digging them up and drying them out seems like more work than they are worth! Over the last couple of years I’ve planted lots of crocuses and bluebells which seem to regrow and despite pulling them up the daffodils are plentiful! I’ve introduced some white ones…

How long it takes before I start cursing the Stone Age mares tail equates to how quickly I spot the first lumpy hooded shoots… but I know my bin will be full of spiky bushes from the front garden. That will be my first extermination of the year. But I must gage it with the dates of the first green bin collection or I will be running round to the refuse centre en route for school pickups!
