Now what can I do?

Our garden got an amazing tidy up last week. I have found myself doing little bits but not much if I’m honest. The green bin has been filled up with the things we couldn’t recycle last week. Mum was surprised at the cost I was quoted to have two green bins, not only a double subscription but also a significant charge for the physical container. Hence our trip to the public refuse container facility last week. Three large heavy sacks…

Not in our garden thankfully… ‘itchy coos’ we call them.

And another huge sack was filled which I tipped into the empty bin this morning. I shall be mashing that down this week if I want to do any more. There are areas I was doing today which have things I don’t add to the compost. I could be getting very mucky if I sorted more this week as I think the two bins at the end of the garden need sieving and relocating into the flower beds.

Those jobs are free and I need to stop spending until I am working. Which I’m getting aware of as the school holidays are generally expensive but with the recent expense of Korea our coffers are rather empty, but that doesn’t stop requests for new school wear, branded for the youngest and vintage for the elder as she enters her Sixth Form years… GCSE results are next week.

This gives you a clue how tall R is on her back legs…

The house needs tidying and our kitchen reorganised to keep R away from her sneaky trips into the kitchen. Partial to all the things she isn’t supposed to eat, I found her licking the chilli splatters off the dinner plates just now. She has pinched chunks of cheese and butter too. We use a lot of onions and garlic neither of which are supposed to be fed to dogs… a lot to rethink when we have a long-legged dog!

Slabs need to be weeded constantly but I like sitting in this corner!
