Today has been a typical weekend when little people need ferrying about. Oldest has sixth form experience next week so that meant clothes shopping! No school uniform just adult clothes. I bought some for me too as I don’t have many summer dresses, and I am job hunting after all. So many years of slouching about in leggings has to end sometime…
We walked R earlier round very quiet fields at around 830 am, and met only one dog walker whose dog was more scared of R than we expected. She is quite intimidating to our other cockapoo who gets looked after by my oldest so I shouldn’t be surprised.
Shopping at big outlets near us meant we picked up quite a lot of things. And then we ferried our youngest to a sailing event at the slightly misleading local Blue Lagoon. She failed to pack dry clothes to change into so she came back sopping wet. I definitely predicted that when she said they didn’t get wet last time… but it was idyllic when we collected two wet teens and got home in time for a nice Pimms with a buffet on top.
I was first introduced to this drink in an old pub in Edinburgh called the Canny Mans, and I can honestly say theirs was truly packed with every kind of fruit that a Pimms and Lemonade can contain, and more. Such a drink probably costs about £15 now but back in my student days £3.50 was a lot! Anyway this is my favourite summer tipple and it’s cheaper when you can make your own. Todays fruit included a cucumber, strawberry, apple, orange and mint combo. And our new seating is very comfortable compared to our old metal chairs. Think they need to move from the middle of our gravel area. Not what I had in mind!
