That is a really big number! A thousand blogs I’ve shared with my readers around the world! It’s only the second day of 2026 but I already feel spurred on to make a few plans, not resolutions, for how to approach the writing of new pieces for my little piece of happiness.

And it does make me happy! I admit that I have glum times – who doesn’t? – and I worry that I repeat myself but repetition is essential to improving the offering I put out there. I haven’t taken loads of pictures this holiday and the kids have an embargo on me sharing any pictures that identify us or them.

But sharing pictures and stories do make me feel alive in a way that no other activity does at the moment. I might try to produce some videos? That would really set up some new challenges. Like self portraits which don’t appear without sunglasses or a light effect which keeps me anonymous, vblogs haven’t appeared on my pages as yet. Take me out of my comfort zone – absolutely – and it’s no bad thing.
